Carbide Turning Inserts Introduction

Carbide Turning Inserts shapes are available with a range of point angles. In general, inserts with a large point angle have a stronger cutting edge but produce more vibration and require more machine power than inserts with a small point angle. Inserts with a small point angle are more versatile, provide better accessibility for detailed cutting, produce less vibration, and require less machine power than inserts with a large point angle, but they have a weaker cutting edge and may be more prone to heat damage.

Carbide Turning Inserts are available with a negative or positive basic shape. Negative inserts have a 0째 clearance angle. They provide good edge strength and are recommended for external turning and heavy cutting applications. Double-sided negative inserts offer twice as many cutting edges as positive inserts, but single-sided negative inserts provide the best stability in heavy roughing applications. Positive inserts have a clearance angle that is greater than 0째 and are a good choice for internal turning applications and external turning applications on slender workpieces. Positive inserts are single sided and produce lower cutting forces than negative inserts.

The substrate with good toughness and high security of cutting edge,in optimal combinatin with coating composed of MT-TiCN,thick layer of Al2O3 and TiN makes it suitable for steel semi-finishing.

YBC252

** Comprising of thick TiCN and thick AL2O3 coating,the grade has high capability against plastic deformation and good hardness of cutting edge.

** it is preferred grade for machining of steel from finishing to roughing.Under the same cutting conditions the cutting speed can be increased by more than 25%,while the tool life can be 30% longer under the same cutting speed.

YBM253

** Ultra-fine grain coating technology provides better wear resistance and toughness;

** Improved remain internal stress design ensures good toughness and anti-cracking performance;

** Polishing treatment on coating surface makes it suitable for cutting adhesive materials.

**CVD coated grade,which is the combination of hard sustrate and coating(medium thick AL2O3+thick TiCN),has good flaking resistance.
